How to Clean and Store Your Food Warming Mat

By the LNNIW team · October 13, 2026 · 2 min read

A silicone food warming mat is easy to look after if you follow a few basic rules. Always read your product's user manual first, because cleaning instructions differ between models.

Before you clean

  1. Unplug the mat and let it cool completely.
  2. Keep the control panel and plug area dry unless your manual says otherwise.

Everyday cleaning

  • Wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth and a drop of mild dish soap.
  • Rinse the cloth and wipe again to remove soap.
  • Dry with a clean towel or let it air dry.

The grey and blue LNNIW mats feature an oil-resistant surface, so greasy spills wipe away easily. The LNNIW Waterproof mat is designed with a water-resistant, stain-resistant surface for easier cleaning; follow the manual for the exact method.

Stubborn marks

Use a soft sponge with warm soapy water. Avoid steel wool, scouring powders or sharp tools that can scratch the silicone.

Storage

  • Make sure the mat is completely dry before storing.
  • Roll it up gently without sharp folds, with the surface facing outward or as shown in your manual.
  • Store in a cool, dry place, such as a drawer or cupboard, away from sharp objects.
  • Keep the power cord loosely coiled, never tightly wrapped.

Protect it in use

  • Use flat-bottomed dishes to avoid concentrating heat.
  • Don't cut food on the mat.
  • Place the included heat-resistant pad underneath to protect your table.

When to contact us

If the mat doesn't heat or shows damage, stop using it and email contact@lnniw.com. See our return and refund policy for warranty details.
