What Size Food Warming Mat Do You Need? 26×15 vs 36×15

By the LNNIW team · October 13, 2026 · 2 min read

Choosing between a compact and an extra-large food warming mat comes down to how many dishes you usually serve. Here is a simple way to decide.

Think in dishes, not guests

A typical serving dish, casserole or round pot takes up roughly 8–10 inches of mat. Count how many dishes you normally put on the table.

  • 2–3 dishes: family dinners, weeknight meals, small brunches. Choose 26×15 in.
  • 4–6 dishes: holiday meals, potlucks, buffets, birthday parties. Choose 36×15 in.

26×15 in: the everyday mat

The 26×15 in Dark Blue mat is easy to place on a kitchen counter or a small table. It rolls up for drawer storage, which makes it a great all-year helper.

36×15 in: the party mat

The 36×15 in Dark Grey mat has room for a full spread. Mains, sides, bread and a sauce can all sit on one surface, each at serving temperature.

Check your table first

Measure the space where you'll place the mat and leave room for the power cord and for guests to reach the dishes. Use the included heat-resistant pad underneath to protect the table.

What about the waterproof mat?

The LNNIW Waterproof mat is a compact option with a surface designed for easy cleaning, ideal when you serve saucy foods.

Still unsure?

When in doubt, size up if you host often, and size down if storage space is tight. Questions? Email contact@lnniw.com and our team will help.
